The first book I would recommend any new vegan to read is: " Becoming Vegan: The Complete Guide to Adopting a Healthy Plant-Based Diet " by Brenda Davis and Vesanto Melina. It will give you the basics on being a healthy vegan.
The second book is " Student's Go Vegan Cookbook: Over 135 Quick, Easy, Cheap, and Tasty Vegan Recipes" by Carole Raymond to help get you started with easy recipes.

If your looking for good recipes I'd suggest looking for books by Sarah Krama, shes amazing. She does a book called La Dolce Vegan!. Its all vegan recipes, but they are so lush. If you look in book stores they normally have loads of vegetarian books out and things.
