- Hello dear veggie friends! A little bit about me… I am a South Florida Native! One of the few! I have been a vegetarian since about November 2003! Yippie! Never felt better!!! I made the switch once I adopted my beautiful dog Blaze and started to become involved in animal welfare. After adopting him I was able to open my eyes to all of the injustices regarding animals on this planet. Soon after leaning the fate of most shelter pets I decided to start a local animal rescue. After Blaze came Brownie my other Luv-a-bull puppy. I went back to working nights in order to start teaching classes on dog bite prevention and animal cruelty. Soon after working with so many domestic animals in need I also began working with injured wildlife. It wasn’t long after that my eyes were opened to a whole new way of thinking and the wide world of cruelty around us. I have happily been a vegetarian ever since!
I am excited that such a group has formed to help keep likeminded people together to work toward a common goal! I am happy to report that many of my personal friends have accepted my lifestyle and become veggies as well! Many others that aren’t so open to change have at least slowly started to come around and attempted to make certain adjustments. I try not to bombard the people I meet with too many things at once regarding vegetarianism and animal welfare issues. I found that I scare too many people away. In my experience I warm them up to me as a person, warm them up to why I eat the way I do and slowly guide them to how possible it is to have a lifestyle such as mine without all of the sacrifices that they are scared of. It takes some time but I think overall people start to catch on.
I bartend at night and dabble in modeling as well. I am super busy and don’t have much time to do things such as surf on the web, watch You Tube, and chat on instant messenger. A few people have sent me messages regarding wanting to chat. Im very sorry and I don’t want to be rude but I don’t have time to do so. Im always running around like a crazy person and my hours don’t allow for much personal time. Ill try to jump on here as often as possible to stay up to date. Usually when I have computer time I need to promote myself (gotta pay the vet bills, lol) or do research for a class or something that I am working on. In my future you will see me with a “green store” and an animal sanctuary! It may take me 10 years but it will happen!
Sadly I am still morning the loss of my beloved Blaze. He passed away in September and I am terribly missing him. If that wasn’t enough to deal with my Brownie girl has cancer. More than I can handle on a daily basis but I am dealing as best as I can. So thanks again for checking me out. Ill try real hard to spend some quality time on here soon and find my way around the site and make some contributions.
