Yeah...in SciFi. So I watch this TV show, Stargate Atlantis, which is set in a galaxy where the "bad guys", some of them anyway, are called Wraith. And humans are their only food. They're supposed to be the villans, when they have no choice but to kill to survive, and the humans are the good guys, even though we voluntarily kill for food.
An interesting plot turn lately has the humans working with one particular wraith, in a common enemy situation, and were forced to find a way to…

Ice wraps and iPods are very good things.
I'm training for the Surf City Half-Marathon, which is the first weekend in February. My plan is very loosely based on the Cool Runnings beginners plan, but with longer long runs, and no speedwork. So now I'm back from today's long run, 9 miles, with an ice wrap on my left knee, which is fine now, but gets babied becuse of past problems.
This afternoon will be devoted to baking; brownies and Mexican wedding cakes for chruch tomorrow.…

Today has been busy, not a work day, so most of it taken up with getting ready for Thanksgiving. Any prep work that I could do this far in advance is done...did the first steps of making the gluten roast (mixing & boiling), veggies & apples are cut for the stuffing, toasted the cashews for the sweet potato casserole and measured and bagged the spices for the dishes and desserts. I also got out the plates, silverware and serving dishes so they can be washed and ready.
Plus, I ma…

As in ever, anywhere in cyberspace. What fun.
This morning I made tofu for the first time ever. I bought a soymilk maker and it arrived yesterday and since I have some soymilk in the 'frige, tofu it was. The machine is very easy to use, and it seems the only tricky part to cleaning it is making sure the mesh in the filter cup is clean. And doing it right away so the residue doesn't turn into the glue from hell become too difficult to clean off.
Since I need to g…

It's me, Tiny. Glad to see you around here.
love your picture of the dog and cat
You will find it feels wonderful not participating in the meat-eating world's murderous secrets. Vegans have nothing to hide and everything to gain by changing the World now. Don't believe their lies. They say, "We are not ready yet. Maybe in a hundred years". Again, do not believe their lies. We will never be ready and it is now or never.
Just like Abe, only one better - I feel good when I do good. I feel bad when I am silent. Silence is complicity. Don't you wish someone let you know the truth when you were young? At least to know they have a choice? I would have wanted that. It took me 43 years of trusting the ones I loved - the world. Some people live and die with never knowing. The World hides it, just like the people we love lied to us about Santa. Christmas and the World was never the same - seemed cold and heartless - until we found the truth and went Vegan.
Give the gift of Truth, this and every year!
