Bad days happen

Today has not been the best of days for me.

I started off feeling cheerful enough, but then read a story on the news about a dog's murder. Yes, it was a murder. The dog was abducted and killed, to be someone's dinner on a plate. I am outraged and saddened beyond belief.

I am vegan by choice, for the rights of all living creatures, and also as an environmentalist. I realize that in the grand scale of things, this may be viewed as an unfortunate happening, nothing more. T… Continue

Hi Carol! Well I missed my B12 intake when I was in the U.S. in september. Had a thickly spread marmite on toast when I got back to compensate. I should check out one of those "speciality stores" next time.

Our public transport system is not without it's flaws but I suppose it is better than having to drive "everywhere" in a car. We still like to moan about it anyway. I'm lucky enough to have 4 very good health food stores within a 10 mile radius & living 25 miles north of London is handy when I feel like treating myself to a meal in a Vegan restaurant. There are quite a few in London. Here's a useful guide to some of them for when you come to London next year:

Vegan London

I stayed in a university town when I visited America: Lawrence in Kansas has an amazingly good music scene with at least 10 great live music venues. I certainly didn't starve while I was there & there either & there were a couple of places in town where there were plenty of Vegan options on the menu. The only thing I didn't like so much is that it was too damn hot! Didn't drop below 85 degrees the whole time I was there. I'm looking forward to going back again next year though, maybe for 2 months next time!

Lol, thanks, Michelle! I found it somewhere on the 'net, can't remember where. I like it, myself.

Hello cbrads. Yes, always good to meet a fellow Vegan :) So you moved from the U.K. to the U.S.? Any regrets? Do you miss all the things you can get over here that you can't get over there or maybe not? I recently went to America for the first time & found that some vegan products were better & some were not as good. I loved the U.S. but I could never live there as I'd miss proper bread, decent soya milk, but mostly yeast extract! Where would I get my B!2? Don't know if I could get enough from fortified breakfast cereals.
