So, Texas is not exactly veggie-friendly. I had to explain what tofu was to my grandfather, and often when people find out I'm a vegetarian, their response is, "But you're such a nice girl... what would ever make you want to do a thing like that?" My family hunts, my friends all love the Texas BBQ and chicken fried steak, and my boyfriend raised, slaughtered, and processed a cow as part of his degree requirement. I can name the friends I have that are vegetarian/vegan…

My name is Justin. I thought I was the only vegetarian in Houston. :) I've been a vegetarian for almost 2 years and I just went vegan at the beginning of this year. You wouldn't believe the criticism I get for the way I eat...than again I guess you do. I'm sure there are worse things we could be ..huh?
