Profile

Are you Vegetarian, Vegan or something else?
I became a vegetarian (gradually) beginning about 22 years ago, because I love *ALL* animals and could not stand the thought of farm animals spending their entire life in misery and confinement, just so I could eat them for dinner one night.

I have been vegan (for the most part) for about 7 years.
About Me:
I am a widow living in a retirement community in Tigard, Oregon...I have two chihuahua dogs that are my babies, and I love taking them on walks, pampering them and making them happy.

well how was your holidays ?mine whasnt the best but is was okay.well today has benn pretty good for a change.i am starting to get more friends then ever.i used to have people think of me as a freak and i always try to make the world a more interesting then it is by looking or acting diffrent but thanks to the story"Weslandia" people find it easier to accept the strangest person like me .they just have to understand you a whole lot beter then they do and they will end up finding that you are actually cooler than they thought.maybe you should get the story and read it to your nabers .they will probaly give you a chance at being friends.and you should also tell them that being a vegitarian is just eating vegittanles all the time and dosent mean that you are going tto try to turn them vegan or anything.

Minnie and Perky are adorable, nothing like basking in the sun on a warm summer day. I have a radiant gas heater in my living room that Dugan and the cats love to lay in front of until they get like toast and have had enough. I have to admit I love it too and I no longer use my furnace and have saved a lot in gas bills and reduced my carbon imprint on the world.

Dian Fossey actually took the picture of Digit and me. It was my last day with Group 4 before going back to Germany to visit my sister and then back to the U.S. to be with my father. He and my mother were in a car accident and my mother died from her injuries. At that time I never realized Dian would become so famous and have a movie made about her. My name actually begins Chapter 13 of Farley Mowatt's book on Dian, "Woman in the Mists". My fifteen minute claim to fame =;o}

I think Root’s struggles had a greater impact on me. When he got all those liver cysts a year before he died I think he was ready to let go but I could not. I put him through a lot with the antibiotics, force feedings, etc. So when he suddenly got ill a year later and became totally unresponsive I did the euthanasia thing and it was the first time in about 30 years I have ever done that. All my other pets have died at home, sometimes it was a gentle process and sometimes not. So my gift to him was to let go as difficult as that was, and it was very difficult.

But life goes on and Dugan continues with the legacy of canine love. What a character he is. If the world had half his love most of our problems would be solved. His buddy, Lenny is a mixed breed, a bit bigger with curly white hair. Lenny was rescued from the streets and is in NYC now and mainly here during the warmer months with an occasional visit in winter. I understand Dugan’s dislike of larger dogs though he has taken to some. We had an incident where a much larger dog was trying to get to him as I held him up. The dog was not aggressive but would not stop jumping up on me and it was very stressful for both Dugan and I. The woman who was watching the larger dog for a neighbor was useless.

Rochester is the land of weather extremes. A thaw is in progress and will be almost 60 by this Tuesday. We have a joke in Rochester that you can blink your eyes and the weather will change. Last year it did not get very cold or snow until the end of January.

Hope you, Minnie, and Perky had a great Holiday and Fröeliche Neu Jahre as my late sister would say.
