I recently moved here so I have no input, but wanted to say that it would be a great resource. My first stop in a new city is always happycow.net but it usually has a lot less than what is actually available. Plus, we could give more details than on there, reviews and stuff...

Okay, who wants to do lunch?

Wow, yeah, there are a ton of Good Places for Vegan/Vegetarian food.

I found a blog that a local chicagoan has put up called

It has an extensive list of restaurants on the side. Pretty good resource.
I invited her to come check out this site but her blog must have thought I was spamming her or something.

mmm vegan french toast from the pick me up is pretty much my most fantasized about restaurant dish ever. I get the milkshake with french toast and I'm pretty much in vegan heaven.
And Earwax in Wicker Park is also vegan friendly and pretty delicious.
If you're in the area and not in the city, there's a brand new raw restaurant called the Borrowed Earth Cafe in Downer's Grove (right at the train station, so you don't even have to drive there if you plan it right!) and it's really yummy.
