DOES ANY ONE NOT FROM THE UK THINK THEY COULD TRY FOR A FUR FREE COUNTRY OF THEIR OWN?
OR PERHAPS A FUR FREE STATE?
WE ARE SEEING THIS SORT OF PUSH WITH FOIE GRAS NOW WHICH IS GREAT! SO WHY NOT PUSH FOR THE FUR INDUSTRY TO FINALLY END, AS ITS JUST AS BARBARIC AND CRUEL!
I FEEL WE REALLY CAN WIN THIS IF WE ALL DO OUR PART!
I have lost my hope, so many times, and regaing it over and over again. From where i stand i can see evil more than i can see bliss so hope is my fuel to keep fighting this fight.
Please sign the petition, it is never pointless even if it may seem considering fur trade is a profitable one and legal in many countries. In the Uk was once legal to farm animals for fur and it is no longer. We will try to make illegal to sell it.
Fur has depressed me more this year than ever. It seems every second person walking by me on the street has fur trim on their jacket. I'll sign. We can always hold out hope.
Keep up the good work.
Dog fur is sold in US on jackets not labeled, it's also sold as faux fur. Raccoon dog fur is sold nationwide on jackets not labeled, it's also sold as faux fur, raccoon or coyote fur. We Need The Dog/Cat Fur Prohibition Enforcement Act of 2007/8
Conditions on Chinese fur farms make a mockery of the most elementary animal welfare standards. In their lives and their unspeakable deaths, these animals have been denied even the most simple acts of kindness. Instead, millions of individuals are forced to endure the most profound indifference to their suffering, dignity and most basic needs – in the name of fashion. The Care For The Wild report on the Chinese fur trade shows that China’s colossal fur industry routinely subjects animals to housing, husbandry, transport and slaughter practices that are unacceptable from a veterinary, animal welfare and moral point of view.

Urge China to enact an animal welfare law that will stop the cruel handling of dogs, cats and other animals at markets and during transportation. This barbaric slaughter and torturous cruelty MUST be stopped.
THESE DEFENCELESS ANIMALS ARE TREATED WITH UTTER CONTEMPT YET THEY ARE THE VERY THING THAT IS ENABLING THESE CALLOUS BUTCHERS TO MAKE A LIVING.
Thanks Helen for such a powerful and informative comment! (And every one else).
I know that I personally have been really affected by the amount of fur wearing people out there which is why I feel a great need to do SO much more this year too help try and end the bloody fur trade once and for all!
I know we can do it, if we all pull together and make ourselves heard! We are the voice for the Animals!
Well Done every one of you! Keep fighting for a VEGAN WORLD!

i had no idea faux fur wasn't regulated. i assumed they couldn't call it that unless it was completely synthetic. i never really bought much faux fur, but i certainly won't buy any ever again.

Sign a Petition to Stop Mink Farming in the Netherlands
Published 04/16/08
In the Netherlands every year four million mink needlessly await their deaths in barren mesh cages. After seven months of stress, anxiety, and boredom they are gassed. After their death they end up as a coat, collar, or hat.
A debate on this issue has started in the Netherlands parliament, and we urge you to help put a stop to this useless and immense animal suffering.
An organization with whom Born Free USA united with Animal Protection Institute works as part of the Fur Free Alliance (FFA)* will soon present a petition to key decision-makers in the Netherlands parliament.
With just a few moments of your time to sign the petition today, you can show the Netherlands that the world is watching — and supports a ban on mink farming.
Already there are bans in Great Britain, Switzerland, Austria, and Croatia. A ban in the Netherlands will set an example for other countries, while protecting millions of animals each year.
